Each year, WDCC gives a minimum of six $1000 scholarships to deserving students attending Muskegon Community College or Muskegon Baker College.

As of August 2023, we've awarded over $146,000 in scholarships.

Applications for the 2025-26 school year will begin September 2024.

For information, please email: scholarshipwdcc@gmail.com

Last August, we were proud to award ten recipients with a $1,000 Scholarship to either Muskegon Community College or Muskegon Baker College. Six of the scholarships were funded from the WDCC treasury, and four were funded by the Member Memorial Scholarship Fund which honors our “Angels” or friends of members who have passed away.

We were blessed with memorial scholarships in honor of Mary Scott: grandmother of Farrah Starr, and Fruitport Grads Give Back: Jack Nummerdor. This was the second $1000 scholarship donation from the Jack Nummerdor family in memory of Jack G. Nummerdor II. The first was awarded to a Fruitport student in August 2022.

These funds help students pursue their education goals and dreams. We’re grateful for the generous donations from family members as they honor their loved ones through their support of our scholarship program.

Congratulations to our 2023-24 Scholarship Winners

Madison Yoder (Baker), Kileigha Ledesma (Fruitport), Justin Laus (Fruitport), Emilia Matuz (Mona Shores), Emily Vroon (Baker), Audrey Darling (MCC), Madeline Hibbard (North Muskegon) and Lyndsay Myers (Baker).

Scholarship Co-Chairs: Diane Cunningham, Joan Eichenberg and Lisa Hegenbart

Anyone can donate to our scholarship fund, and we are grateful for all the donations we receive to help outstanding students continue their education and pursue their dreams.

What's the difference between a WDCC Scholarship and a
Member Memorial Scholarship?

The WDCC awards multiple $1000 Scholarships annually to young people in our community who will be attending Muskegon Community College or Muskegon Baker College full-time. These scholarships are open to female and male high school seniors or students currently attending one of these colleges. Applications are available on this site beginning mid-October with a deadline in mid-March.

The prestigious Member Memorial Scholarship fund (MMS) is awarded to top candidates who demonstrate a desire to improve our community by giving back through community service. The MMS is designed to honor our deceased members and is awarded in $1000 increments. The scholarship is given in the names of those deceased members who are being honored through donations. Recipients are deserving female or male students attending Muskegon Community College or Muskegon Baker College.

Designate the WDCC Member Memorial Scholarship Fund

A member and/or her family can designate contributions in memory of a loved one to the WDCC Member Memorial Scholarship Fund. If you choose to fund a full $1000 scholarship, the award will be given in your loved one’s name.

Designate the WDCC Member Memorial Scholarship Fund in your estate planning or request to your family members that you be remembered by contributions to this fund because:

  • You believe in the good work you and your fellow WDCC members do for the community.

  • You would like WDCC to continue with the legacy of 60+ years of giving scholarships to deserving students.

Mail your donation, along with the name of the person you are honoring to:
